Various reinforcement schedules have been shown to have different effects on the rate and retention of learning.
In your own words, explain the meaning of fixed interval (FI), variable interval (VI), fixed ratio (FR), and variable ratio
(VR) reinforcement schedules. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of the four types of
reinforcement schedules?
Give an example from your own experience when one of the four types of reinforcement schedules was used. What
were the results?
